Finding Articles & Books

From UM Library's webpage, you can find articles in the Discovery.

 

As a new user, kindly find the following steps for finding articles in Discovery. Or, you may start searching Discovery here.

 Discovery Search 

 

Steps:

1. Conduct a general keyword search in the Discovery. Then filter Resource Type to "Articles".

 

2. Click "Available Online" and choose relevant database's link.

 

3. Sign in with your UMPASS for authentication.

 

4. Click "PDF" for article fulltext.

From UM Library's webpage, you can search for books in Library Catalog or Discovery. In general, if you have the book title, you may search by Library Catalog (see Example 1). However, if you would like to find books with some keywords, Discovery is a starting point (see Example 2). Collections in the backend of Discovery and Library Catalog are the same, you don't need to worry about missing records.

Example 1 :

1) Finding the book "Lam, Chee Shiong. Casino Management in Integrated Resorts . Routledge, 2020.". Type the book title under the tab Library Catalog and press search.

 

2) If the Library has the book, you may write down the call number and find it on the book shelf. Besides, you need to know the book status, location.

Example 2 :

1) Finding books with keywords.

 

2) Refine material types to "Physical Books".

 

3) Results of print books.
